Before you start trading on PirateSwap, make sure your Steam account meets the necessary requirements. Trading is fast and seamless, but Steam has a few restrictions in place to ensure secure transactions.
1. Steam Guard Must Be Enabled
Your Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator must be active for at least 7 days. Without this, your account won’t be eligible for trading. If you haven’t set it up yet, you can find instructions on how to enable it here.
2. No Trade Bans or Restrictions
Your Steam account must be in good standing—any trade bans, VAC bans, or restrictions will prevent you from trading on PirateSwap. You can check your trade status in your Steam settings.
3. Your Inventory Must Be Public
For PirateSwap to access your skins, your Steam inventory must be set to public. You can adjust this in Steam’s privacy settings under Profile > Privacy Settings > Inventory.
4. Your Account Must Be Active
To be eligible for trading, your Steam account must be fully active and able to generate an API key. This requires that you’ve made at least $5 worth of purchases on Steam.
5. A Valid Trade URL
Your Steam Trade URL is what allows PirateSwap to send you trade offers. If you haven’t set it up yet, you can find or update it here and enter it in your PirateSwap settings.
Once you’ve met these requirements, you’re all set to trade, swap, and upgrade your skins hassle-free! If you run into any issues, check the rest of our FAQ or reach out to Support for help.
